The VRT Stand has survived in one form or another since 1991 and whilst we had intended to replace it this year, this morning's inclement weather at Southend Airport made our decision for us! Rich Clarkson and Dave Griffiths survey the damage! |

Sunday 27th April saw the first of our Visit the Vulcan Days at Southend and it was a great success. Southend Airport Open Weekend |

Those of you who have enjoyed the Southend Airport Open Weekend in previous years will be interested to know that there is a new site layout, quite different from previous years. The event which coincides with Southend's seafront airshow and takes advantage of the fact that most of the participating aircraft operate from the Airport, will be toned down in terms of non-aviation attractions but will still give you the best seat in the house and access to Vulcan XL426. Unlike previous years when the apron has been a public area, this will now be restricted to aircraft movements. The central car park will become the main viewing area and will also be home to the commentary point and the marquee and there will be a large number of attractions on the other side of the taxiway in the Vulcan's area including, we hope, a Meet the Pilots tent. |
