Southend Pier Museum Southend is the home of the longest pleasure pier in the world, extending 2,158 metres (that’s over 1.3 miles) out into the Thames Estuary. The pier has its own museum where you can learn about the wonderful history of this iconic landmark – or should that be sea-mark? – and climb on board one of the early pier trains that has been restored to its former glory.
